We are extremely excited to inform you that The Scituate Community Preservation Committee (CPC) has approved Jenkins Elementary School for funding for a new playground! We still require multiple approvals before we can begin (see information re: Town Meeting, below), but this is an important - and positive! - first step!

 

**The PTO has pledged to raise 10% of the total cost (~$40,000) so please be on the lookout for increased fundraising opportunities in the coming months**

 

Our tentative plan is to remove the current structure and build a new, state-of-the-art climbing structure in the corner of the blacktop closest to the field. This location will promote increased visibility, safety, and to reduce classroom distractions. We will also build a new swing bay where the current climbing structure resides. All surfaces will be handicapped accessible, poured-in-place rubber.

 

If you are available, the town will be voting on the playground at Town Meeting on April 10. If you can make it, please come and vote YES! Thank you, in advance, for your support.
